We asked Jake a simple question: if you were buying a block of land today, what would you look for?
Start with a subdivision
Jake's first pick would be a block in a subdivision, because so much of the groundwork is already done for you:
- The roads are done
- The kerbs are done
- Power is connected
- Water is there
- Access is sorted
Buying outside a subdivision? Check these three things
If a subdivision isn't for you, Jake would look closely at three things:
- Trees on the block. They affect where and how you can build.
- Rock underground. What you can't see can change the job.
- Access to the block itself. Trades, trucks and materials all need to get in.
None of these rule a block out, but they are worth knowing about before you sign. If you have your eye on a block, have a chat with us first.
