It's good news for Home owner occupiers in Australia, as the Government announced on the 29th November that they are extending the homebuilder program until the 31st March 2021. The HomeBuilder program was set in place as a response to the Covid-19 Pandemic to assist the residential construction industry, and encourage Australians to either renovate their existing homes or build a new home.
What a great idea!!

So just a quick recap to get you started in your research - Changes and opportunites for Owner Occupiers to get access to government funding for either a substantial renovation or a new build are:
1. Until the 31st December if you sign a building contract you are eligible for the $25,000 funding
2. If the contract is signed after that, anytime from the 1st January 2021 until the 31st March, the Government is offering a $15,000 rebate.
3. Construction must commence within six months of the contract being signed.
