Building a new home is a major milestone for any family, and for Dana and Lachie, the journey with Integrity New Homes Geraldton has been one they describe as smooth, flexible and rewarding from start to finish.
The couple recently completed handover of their new home at Rudds Gully in Geraldton, marking the end of a building process that moved quickly and allowed them to stay closely involved every step of the way.
From the beginning, Dana and Lachie were able to witness the progress of their home firsthand. Living on the property during the build allowed them to watch each stage come together, from the initial slab pour through to the final finishing touches.
“So we’re coming up to 12 months pretty much spot on the date now. The process has been really good,” Lachie explained. “We’ve actually lived on site while the build has been happening, so we’ve been able to watch the process and see the different stages.”
What stood out most to the couple was the speed of construction. After the slab was poured in April, the home was ready for handover by November, allowing them to move in sooner than expected.
“And yeah, so the slab went down in April and now we’re in November and we’re already moving in. It’s gone crazy quick.” Dana said.
Flexibility throughout the build was another highlight. Dana and Lachie were able to make several changes during construction, and Morgan and his team worked quickly to make those adjustments happen.
“Morgan on site, we made a few changes halfway through and him and his team made them so quick,” Lachie said.
Being able to walk through the site regularly and discuss ideas directly with the builder made the experience feel collaborative and personal.
“For us to be able to walk through the site daily with Morgan and the team and go ‘hey what do you think about this?’ and he’d say ‘yeah we’ll make it happen. This is your house, this is your home.’”
Behind the scenes, the team at Integrity New Homes Geraldton also played a key role in ensuring the process ran smoothly, helping coordinate changes and keeping the build on track.
For Dana, one of the moments that really highlighted the level of care and craftsmanship came during a walkthrough before painting had been completed. She noticed small pencil markings across the cladding where imperfections had been identified.
“That was Morgan walking around at the end of the day going ‘I’m not happy with that, I’m not happy with this,’” she explained. “That attention to detail really just finalises everything and makes sure it’s the best quality.”
Dana and Lachie first discovered Integrity New Homes while travelling through the Northern Territory. A social media post caught their attention, particularly the advertised 30 week build time.
“Having integrity in your name is big shoes to fill and we had big expectations straight off the bat, and they’ve smashed it out of the park,” Lachie said.
Now standing in their completed home, the couple say they are proud of how everything came together and excited about the next chapter.
“We’re pretty content and happy with where we landed and how it all played out.”
For families in Geraldton looking to build sooner rather than later, Dana and Lachie say their experience speaks for itself.
“It’s been a really easy process for us from start to finish… they’ve honestly smashed it out of the ballpark.”
